What is Diffusion

Diffusion is when particles are moving from a high area to a low area of concentration.

The aim of this experiment is to see if hot / cold water will defuse particles the fastest.

Hypothesis:
I think hot water because it has more steam and heat so it will defuse particles faster.

Method:
1. Half fill your petri dish with cold tap water.
2. Place the petri dish on your work bench and allow the water to become settled.
3. Using the tweezers, place a single crystal of potassium permanganate in the center of the petri dish.
4. Observe for 5 minutes.
5. Repeat the experiment using hot water.

Results:
The hot water defuse the potassium permanganate fastest.

Conclusion:
In conclusion my hypothesis was correct and the hot water defused the potassium fastest.

Growth Mindset

In wananga this week we were learning about Resilience and having a growth mindset. Having a growth mindset consists of turning negative thoughts into positive thoughts.
For example:

I can't do this > I can't do this yet
I can use some strategies to try to figure it out how to do it.
                         I can ask for help

I give up > I can do this
                  I need to try again
                  I can't do this yet!

Finally, the increased efficiency of the assembly line allowed Ford to increase the basic rate of pay for his employees.

  1. How does the production line increase productivity?
  • #1 - Review Your Existing Workflow.
  • #2 - Update Processes and Technology.
  • #3 - Commit to Scheduled Maintenance.
  • #4 - Train and Educate Employees.
  • #5 - Organize the Workspace.
  • #6 - Maintain Optimal Inventory.

  1. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the production line?
  • Specialization of labor and capital
  • Uniform product
  • Initial cost
  • Flexibility

  1. Provide an example of a business that uses the production line. ( Do not use the ford model T )
